Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with percutaneous transforaminal endo-scopic in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods 60 patients with LDH accepted were randomly grouped into opera-tion group(30 cases)and combined group(30 cases). The patients in the operation group were treated with percutaneous transfo-raminal endoscopic, and the patients in the combined group were treated with Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic. The expression of serum interleukin 1β(IL-1β)and CXC chemokine ligand 1(CXCL1),the degree of pain[visual analog scale(VAS)],lower extremity function[(British medical research council,BMRC)lower extremity function score],and the levels of pain mediators[neuropeptide Y(NPY),substance P(SP),and prostaglandin E2(PGE2)]and the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)were compared between the 2 groups. Results The VAS score, serum NPY,SP,PGE2,IL-1β,and CXCL1 levels in both groups were obviously reduced after treatment(P<0.05),and the combined group is lower than the surgical group(P<0.05);after treatment, the proportion of BMRC classes 3-4 in the 2 groups was obviously increased(P<0.05),and compared with the operation group, the combined group was obviously higher(P<0.05).The total curative effect of the combined group was 96.67%,which was obviously higher than 73.33%of the operation group(P<0.05).Conclusion Shentong Zhuyu Decoction combined with percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic BEIS technique in treating LDH can effectively relieve pain, reduce the levels of IL-1β and CXCL1,and ameliorate the lower extremity function.
