Effect of Xuebijing Injections combined with acetylcysteine on liver and kidney damage in acute paraquat poisoning
Objective To investigate the effect of Xuebijing Injections combined with acetylcysteine(AC)on liver and kidney damage in acute paraquat poisoning(APP).Methods The clinical data of 80 patients with APP were retrospectively analyzed and divided into AC group(n=39,conventional treatment and AC)and combined group(n=41,Xuebijing Injection was added on the basis of AC group treatment)according to different treatment methods. The respiratory indexes[arterial blood partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and oxygenation index],inflammatory factor levels[interleukin-6(IL-6)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)],liver and kidney function indicators[glutamic pyruvic transaminase(GPT),glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(GOT),serum creatinine(Scr),and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)]were compared between the 2 groups before treatment and after 2 weeks of treatment, and the prognosis were observed. Results After treatment, the PaO2,oxygenation index, and eGFR in the 2 groups were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the combined group were obviously higher than the AC group(P<0.05);after treatment, the levels of serum IL-6 and TGF-β1 and the measured values of GPT,GOT and Scr in the 2 groups were significantly lower than those before treatment(P<0.05),and the combination group were significantly lower than the AC group(P<0.05);the incidence of organ failure(32.56%vs.56.41%)and the mortality rate(60.98%vs.82.05%)within 1 month in the combined group were significantly lower than those in the AC group(P<0.05).Conclusion Xuebijing Injections combined with AC therapy for APP patients can significantly reduce liver and kidney damage, effectively inhibit inflammatory response, and improve the survival rate of patients.
