Therapeutic effect of Ditan Decoction combined with electroacupuncture on intractable schizophrenia with phlegm stagnation
Objective To analyze the therapeutic effect of Ditan Decoction combined with electroacupuncture on intractable schizophrenia with phlegm stagnation and its influence on sleep and memory function.Methods 150 patients with refractory schizophrenia were divided into control group and experimental group by using random number table method,with 75 cases in each group.The control group was treated with clozapine,and the experimental group was treated with Ditan Decoction combined with electroacupuncture on the basis of the control group.The both groups were treated for 8 weeks.The 2 groups of mental symptoms,memory and cognitive functions,sleep quality,and neurological factors were compared before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment,and the efficacy after 8 weeks and the occurrence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared.Results The total effective rate of the experimental group was higher(93.33%)than that of the control group(78.67%,P<0.05)after 8 weeks of treatment.The scores of positive and negative symptom scale(PANSS)and Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),and the serum levels of glial fibrillary acid protein(GFAP)in the 2 groups decreased,and the experimental group decreased more significantly(P<0.05).The scores of Wechsler adult memory scale(WMS-RC),matrics consensus cognitive battery(MCCB),sleep efficiency(SE),the serum levels of nerve growth factor(NGF)and brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)in the 2 groups increased,and the experimental group was higher(P<0.05);the total sleep time(TST)was longer in both groups,and the experimental group was longer than the control group(P<0.05).Compared with the control group(16.00%),the total incidence of adverse reactions in the experimental group was lower(5.33%,P<0.05).Conclusion Ditan Decoction combined with electroacupuncture was effective in the treatment of refractory schizophrenia patients with phlegm stagnation,which could improve the mental symptoms,memory and cognitive functions,and improve sleep quality with safety.The mechanism might be related to the regulation of serum neurofactor expression.
