Effects of liraglutide combined with insulin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and osteoporosis
Objective To explore the effects of liraglutide combined with insulin on serum Apelin, bone mineral density(BMD)and bone metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and osteoporosis(OP).Methods A total of 80 patients with T2DM and OP were enrolled and randomly divided into experimental group(40 cases)and control group(40 cases). The control group was treated with insulin, while the experimental group was additionally treated with liraglutide. The curative effect after treatment, glucose metabolism, serum Apelin, adiponectin(ADPN),BMD and bone metabolism indexes[bone specific alkaline phosphatase(BAP),bone gla protein(BGP)and type Ⅰ collagen N-terminal peptide(NTX)]before and after treatment, and the adverse reactions in the 2 groups were observed. Results After treatment, the total response rate of treatment in experimental group was significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The levels of fasting glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)in experimental group were significantly lower than those in control group(P<0.05),the levels of serum Apelin and ADPN were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.05),and the BMD values of lumbar L2-L4 segments and femoral neck were significantly greater than those in control group(P<0.05).The levels of BAP and BGP in experimental group were higher than those in control group, while the NTX was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the 2 groups during treatment(P>0.05).Conclusion Liraglutide combined with insulin has good curative effect, which can improve glucose metabolism, increase serum Apelin,ADPN levels and BMD,and improve bone metabolism in patients with T2DM and OP,without increasing the incidence of adverse reactions.
