Catalytic Kinetic Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Nitrite
A catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method was established for the determination of trace NO2- in glacial acetic acid medium by the oxidation of alizarin red by potassium bromate under the condition of nitrite catalysis. The optimum conditions such as the amount of each ingredient, reaction temperature and reaction time were obtained by single factor experiment. The results show that there is a good relationship between alizarin red concentration and NO2- content in the reaction system. In the range of 0.02~0.14 μg/mL,the linear regression equation is ln(A0/A)= 1.43c NO3-(μg/mL)+0.008 59,the correlation coefficient r2 is 0.997 0,and the detec-tion limit is 5.25×10-3 μg/mL.The method is simple to operate and the results are stable.
