Design and Analysis of a Consequent-Pole Permanent Magnet Vernier Motor
A novel consequent-pole Permanent Magnet Vernier Motor(CPPMVM)with low cost ferrite mag-nets was proposed in the paper.The topology of the motor was introduced,and an equivalent magnetic field model based on specific magnetic conductivity function was proposed to deduce the main flux density,modulation flux density and back EMF(Electromotive Force).And the electromagnetic performance,the air gap flux density,and the harmonics distribution were analyzed by analytical method and finite element method.The results showed that compared with the Surface Permanent Magnet Vernier Motor(SPMVM),the proposed consequent-pole Per-manent Magnet Vernier Motor had the advantages of simple mechanical structure,low cost,effective harmonic modulation,high torque density and strong anti-demagnetization ability.
