Analysis and optimization schemes on wheel roundness development
Addressing the concern of wheel out of roundness(OOR)on Foshan metro line 2,this article uses a lathe to measure and track the wheel roundness of three in-service trains, and conducts comparative analysis to obtain the general characteristics of wheel OOR development. The statistics reveal that during the same time period, different wheel OOR development speeds are not completely the same.Wheels with deeper initial roundness tend to exhibit a faster development rate in the later stages.Wheels that initially exhibited OOR tend to maintain the same development trend after reprofiling.Furthermore,as mileage increases, there is an observable tendency for the development speed of wheel OOR to slow down.In addition,a wheel roughness test was conducted to comprehensively understand the detailed characteristics of the wheel. The analysis results indicate that the main manifestation of wheel OOR on Foshan metro line 2 is a partial depression on the tread, which is closely related to the issue of idling and sliding during rainy days.Based on the identified characteristics, and in consideration of avoiding partial depressions on treads and changes in reprofiling angles, optimization schemes are proposed and verified to solve the issue of wheel OOR.These findings offer a valuable reference for other industry counterparts in the metro sector.
