Research on carbon emissions accounting and trading in the transportation sector
The transportation industry stands as a significant source of carbon emissions in China,which emphasizes that the green and low-carbon transformation is of great significance for the high-quality development of the industry and the promotion of a strong transportation country.This article offers an overview of the current carbon emissions landscape in China's urban transportation sector and outlines overarching policies guiding the transportation industry's involvement in the carbon trading market.Through an examination of both domestic and international examples of carbon emission accounting and trading in the transportation sector,this article compares the differences in carbon emission accounting methods and trading under different carbon market mechanisms.It also assesses the opportunities and challenges of incorporating the transportation sector into the carbon trading market,proposing multiple avenues for participation along with corresponding recommendations.The research presented here serves as a valuable reference and model for establishing and improving carbon accounting standards and carbon trading systems applicable to China's transportation industry and enterprises.
