Research on the cost management for the high-level maintenance of intercity EMUs
Intercity EMUs are a core component of urban rail transit engineering. In the modern era, with a focus on promoting the circular economy and sustainable development, intercity EMUs exhibit clear advantages in terms of energy conservation and environmental protection.Data statistics from online operations of intercity EMUs reveal variations in their annual operating mileage across different lines. Some intercity EMUs operate with an annual mileage of less than 100,000 km.However, the maintenance cycle for the high-level maintenance of intercity EMUs aligns with that of main-line EMUs.This results in intercity EMUs generally undergoing high-level maintenance earlier, with mileage-related components falling significantly short of their designated maintenance mileage.Consequently, this situation leads to over-maintenance for mileage-related components on intercity EMUs.Therefore, optimizing the high-level maintenance cycle to reduce the frequency of such maintenance becomes a crucial measure in reducing the associated costs. From the perspective of advanced maintenance cost management, this article proposes a feasible plan for extending the maintenance cycle of intercity EMUs.It also evaluates the high-level maintenance cost after optimizing the maintenance schedule, aiming to provide a reference for similar cases.
