Research on the interoperability scheme of ticketing between intercity railways and urban rail transit in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region
The coordinated development of Beijing,Tianjin, and Hebei has propelled the establishment of a regionally interconnected comprehensive transportation network as a pivotal initiative. This has become the leading field to promote the coordinated development of Beijing,Tianjin, and Hebei, and the demand for the interoperability of intercity railway and urban rail transit has become crucial. However, intercity railways and urban rail transit are still operating independently, with separately run operations, ticketing systems, and fare management mechanisms. This is especially the case in the ticketing field.Due to the wide variety of ticketing systems, passengers must hold many kinds of tickets and cards when traveling across regions, leading to considerable inconvenience. To address these issues, this article, building on the foundation of rail transit fare management in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, analyzes the challenges and potential methods for achieving interoperability between intercity railways and urban rail transit Taking the example of ticketing interoperability between the Beijing intercity railway liaison line and the new city liaison line(suburban railway line S6)as a case study, this article proposes ticketing interoperability programs and recommendations for the intercity railway and urban rail transit in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The aim of this is to provide a reference and model for similar projects.
