Research and development of shunting safety protection devices for the EMU high-level maintenance
Following the separation of EMUs for high-level maintenance, the separated EMU cars must be pushed to different maintenance tracks using a road-rail locomotive. To ensure operational safety and address challenges such as driving blind spots, poor communication while shunting, lack of active obstacle avoidance, and inefficiencies in manual signal recognition, this article develops a set of shunting safety protection devices that are suitable for EMU high-level maintenance sites.By building a dedicated network and navigation base, generating maps of the high-level maintenance base, and utilizing technologies such as remote control, image analysis and recognition, remote sensing, and geographic information to achieve primary functions such as blind spot recognition, obstacle avoidance, position control, and automatic signal recognition, practical testing of the device has been carried out.The results show that it can improve shunting efficiency, reduce on-site workers, enhance communication between the dispatch center and the site, and significantly enhance the level of safety risk control during shunting operations.
