Study on the design scheme of rigid overhead contact systems for 160 km/h urban express lines
As a carrier for transmitting traction power and a mechanical slide for train pantograph power collection sliding, the rigid overhead contact system(rigid OCS)is an important part of the power supply system for urban express lines. In order to ensure the continuous transmittance of electric power to trains, both stably and reliably, this article explores the first fully underground urban express line with a 160 km/h operating speed in China that adopted rigid OCS to transmit electric power,Guangzhou metro line 18.Based on the analysis of the design requirements of rigid OCS,a comprehensive study of the design scheme of rigid OCS is conducted by using theoretical calculations, finite element simulations, and other technical means. This allows the determination of the suspension mode, height of the conductor, the suspension span, the tensioning section length, the stagger layout,as well as the selection requirements for key components, such as section insulators,expansion-elements,and cable-cleats.In addition, the availability of the design scheme is verified through simulation and engineering cases, with the goal of guiding similar cases.
