Rethinking the treatment method of foundation pits hazards during the construction of metro stations
Appropriate measures to deal with hazards must be promptly taken when constructing the foundation pits of metro stations. This article takes the handling process of a foundation pit emergency at a certain metro station as an example, providing a detailed account of the causes and progression of hazards such as steel support fractures and diaphragm wall cracking during the foundation pit construction process. It also describes the post-treatment establishment and implementation of an emergency response program. The research found that the insufficient input of geological data, inadequate calculations for retaining structures, and deficiencies in the design of steel support connections were the main causes of emerging hazards,as well as a failure to strictly follow design drawings, poor production and inspection of construction materials, and untimely monitoring and early warning of foundation pits during the construction phase. After hazards occurred, timely measures such as sealing the bottom of foundation pits with plain concrete and increasing steel supports can effectively deal with foundation pit hazards. The analysis and management experience provided in this article regarding foundation pit hazards can offer valuable insights for related engineering designs and construction projects, and therefore has important reference value.
