Analysis and solution of the issues of utilization of PIDS system broadcasting in metro trains
The Passenger Information Display System(PIDS)provides passengers with real-time and accurate travel information directly, with train broadcasting being one of its key features. In the context of the widespread adoption of Automatic Train Operation(ATO)systems for automated station announcements, the semi-automatic broadcasting mode has revealed numerous shortcomings in practical operation due to its low usage frequency and limited practical experience. This article, based on the working principles of the train broadcasting announcement system, analyzes the actual application of the semi-automatic broadcasting in the PIDS system of a certain train on metro line 2.It addresses issues such as errors in station announcements and the absence of sound throughout the train during broadcasting, fully considers the on-site usage conditions to formulate solutions, and all issues have been resolved through the update of hardware and software configurations, providing reference and inspiration for other metro PIDS systems that utilize semi-automatic broadcasting.
