A Review on Technological Innovation from the Perspective of Production Networks
Innovation is the first driving force leading development.In recent years,with the deepening of the industrial division of labor and cooperation,the study of technological innovation in conjunction with production networks has gradually become a frontier issue.This article combines the production network analysis with the transmission and spillover of technological innovation,as well as the mutual influence between technological innovation and endogenous changes in the production network,basing on a comprehensive review of the existing literature.First,the paper introduces the transmission role of production networks in exogenous technology shocks.Second,relaxes the exogeneity of technology shocks and describes the impact of production networks and related innovation networks on technology spillovers.Then,relaxes the setting that production networks are considered as a given transmission channel in the early stage and analyzes the relation between production networks'endogenous changes and technological innovation.And unify and summarize the quantitative and empirical research from the above three aspects;Finally,a summary and outlook on the recent progress are given.
