Cultivating and developing New Quality Productivity is an important way to improve the efficiency of resource allocation in the new era.Based on provincial panel data from 2011 to 2022 in China,this study investigates the impact and mechanism of New Quality Productivity on resource allocation efficiency.Results show that:①New Quality Productivity can reduce the degree of market distortion and improve resource allocation efficiency.② New Quality Productivity can indirectly promote the effective resource allocation efficiency by improving labor productivity and enhancing market competition.③ The improvement of resource allocation efficiency by New Quality Productivity is the strongest in the eastern region,followed by the central region,and not significant in the western region.④ New Quality Productivity exhibits a negative spatial spillover effect on resource allocation efficiency.⑤ There is an industrial structure threshold in the process of promoting resource allocation efficiency through New Quality Productivity.In view of this,China should accelerate the cultivation and development of New Quality Productivity,taking it as an opportunity to promote effective improvement of resource allocation efficiency and achieve high-quality economic development.
