Transportation Infrastructure,Market Integration and Energy Efficiency
Continuously improving energy efficiency is key to promoting high-quality development and achieve carbon neutrality goals. This paper analyzes the impact and mechanism of transportation infrastructure on energy efficiency from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. The results indicate that transportation infrastructure can significantly improve energy efficiency in various cities, and this impact is more pronounced in western regions,non-central cities, and non-resource-endowment cities.Mechanism analysis shows that transportation infrastructure can promote market integration, enhance cross regional flow of factors, and thus improve energy efficiency.Based on the results,it is recommended that local governments increase investment in transportation infrastructure, especially in western regions,non-central cities, and non-resource-endowment cities. At the same time, accelerate the construction of a unified national market, facilitating the channel mechanism for the development of transportation infrastructure.
