Research on the Effects of Storage Time on the Color Feature and Breaking Strength of Machine-Picked Cotton and Hand-Picked Cotton
In this paper,the influence of storage time on the properties of machine-picked cotton and hand-picked cotton is explored.The ginned cotton samples were picked mechanically and manually from northern Xinjiang cotton region.HVI was used to detect various fiber property indexes at the interval of half year,and the test data were statistically analyzed.The experimental results show that: with the increase of storage time,the breaking tenacity and reflectivity of cotton fiber decrease and yellowness index increases.The changes of machine-picked cotton are more obvious than that of hand-picked cotton.The length of cotton fiber and the uniformity index change little.
