An Evaluation Study of Digital Transformation in Manufacturing Industry Segments
The digitalisation of manufacturing industry is an inevitable requirement for economic development due to the vigorous development of new-generation information technology. We select the data related to the digitalisation of manufacturing industry segments from 2011 to 2021,classify manufacturing industries into three categories according to the different factor intensities, and construct an evaluation system covering four indicators, namely, digital technology input, innovation benefit, green benefit and economic benefit, from the aspects of digital input and digital benefit We empirically calculate the evaluation value of digital transformation for each sub-sector of the manufacturing industry, and rank the evaluation results of each sub-sector of the manufacturing industry in terms of advantages and disadvantages. The results show that the digital transformation level of technology-intensive industries is higher, while the digital transformation level of labour-intensive industries and capital-intensive industries is lower. We also put forward policy suggestions from the perspectives of manufacturing enterprises and the government to provide theoretical basis for promoting digital transformation of manufacturing industries.
