Effective Mechanisms and Innovative Practices of"Four-in-One"Teacher Training Model in Shanghai
China places great importance on the reform of collaborative and innovative models for in-service teacher training and development.Based on the ecosystem theory of individual development,an examination of the"trinity"collaborative teacher training model involving universities(U),local governments(G),and primary and secondary schools(S)reveals many practical difficulties and challenges.Considering the actual professional development needs of teachers in Shanghai,it is essential to lever-age the integrated role of Shanghai Teacher Institute(I)in training,research,and service,which leads to the construction of a new"U-G-I-S"four-in-one teacher training model.The findings have shown that the"four-in-one"teacher training model can effectively connect educational administrative departments,universities,teacher development institutions,and primary and sec-ondary schools;that it can break down barriers between different educational stages,can integrate cutting-edge academic knowl-edge with teaching needs,can bridge theoretical guidance with practical implementation,and can facilitate the flow between teaching and research.Thus the"U-G-I-S"model could effectively promote teachers'professional development and help form a more open,collaborative and interactive high-level teacher training system.
