The acceleration of urbanization process has led to the scarcity of urban spatial resources in China,the develop-ment and utilization of urban underground space has become one of the most effective ways to solve this problem.However,the use of shallow underground spaces in some urban centers has become saturated,hindering the continued expansion of under-ground facilities,it is an inevitable trend for cities to develop towards deeper underground spaces in the future.Explains the concept of urban deep underground space,analyzes the characteristics and main functions of deep underground space in urban central areas,and proposes the facility types of urban deep underground space through comprehensive analysis of domes-tic and foreign deep underground engineering cases and studies,providing reference for the formulation of urban deep under-ground space planning.
