Study on the Tension Characteristics of Pavement Using Finite Difference Method
In order to analyze the tension characteristics of pavement, the finite difference method was used to study the influ-ence of the modulus of pavement and the ratio of compression modulus to tension modulus on the tensile stress and ten-sile strain under different contact state between layers. The results from the finite difference method are consistent with those from the finite element method and BISAR 3.0,and the interface model can simulate the contact state between layers.Re-sults indicate that when the contact state weakens, large tensile stress may appear in the pavement;compared with increasing the modulus of middle layer, increasing the lower layer modulus has more obvious influence on the tensile stress of the base course;with the increase of the ratio of compressive modulus to tensile modulus, the tensile stress in pavement decrea-ses gradually, but the tensile strain increases. The results are beneficial for further understanding of pavement design.
