A Study on the Internal Governance Structure for the World-class Universities
The internal governance structure of the university highlights the characteristics of the power organization and the decision making bodies during the governance process,and it also deter-mines the modernization level of governance capacity.It's helpful for promoting the construction pro-cess of world-class universities and achieving the strategic goal for building a strong education coun-try through learning and drawing on the paradigm of internal governance experience of world-class universities.This study focuses on the inner-governance structures of California State University,To-kyo University,and Singapore National University,by analyzing the evaluation indexes of autonomy,democracy and accountability.Findings reveal Singapore National University has a high level of au-tonomy and accountability,but low level of democracy.Tokyo University emphasizes the high level of accountability.While the above-mentioned indexes are all high in California State University.
