Transformation of Ideas for the Revitalization of Regional Higher Education—Take the Midwest of China as an Example
Comprehensively revitalizing the higher education in the central and western regions is an important chapter for the higher education in our country.However,under the influence of eco-nomic determinism,the revitalization of higher education in the central and western regions has formed a fixed train of thought,such as dependent development with obvious ideas of waiting,depen-dence and demanding;imitative development following the development mode of Eastern higher edu-cation,and denotative development,which deviates from the original intention of connotative develo-pment.The institutional dilemma caused by economic determinism,the drive of endogenous culture in the central and western regions,and the value guidance of enhancing the comprehensive strength of higher education in the central and western regions determine that the revitalization of higher edu-cation in the central and western regions is bound to shift to the idea of"enhancing soft power".To eliminate the potential gap in soft power with the eastern higher education,we need to create a re-laxed scientific research atmosphere in the academic evaluation system of higher education in the central and western regions,take the characteristic development route in the discipline culture con-struction,and create a people-oriented soft environment in giving play to the value of talents.
