Establishment of internet-based hospital group in cloud management of chronic wounds
Objective To establish an internet-based Hospital Group for cloud management of chronic wounds and investigate its effectiveness in hospitals management. Methods Before and after study was used in the study.Between April 2020 and April 2021,a total of 90 patients with chronic wounds treated in 10 hospitals of a Hospital Group were assigned to the control group.Another group of 96 patients with the same condition and treated between May 2021 and May 2022 at the same hospitals were assigned to the observation group. The patients in the control group received routine wound management and those in the observation group were treated with the internet-based cloud management of chronic wounds through the Hospital Group. The two groups were compared in terms of wound healing rate, patient satisfaction, referral rate and wound healing time. Results The observation group showed a significantly higher wound healing rate, greater patient satisfaction in comparison with the control group(all P<0.05).Furthermore,the observation group demonstrated a significantly lower referral rate and significantly shorter wound healing time(both P<0.05).Conclusions The internet-based cloud management of chronic wounds via the Hospital Group offers several advantages, including shorter wound healing time, improved the wound healing rate and patient satisfaction, and increased wound care ability of nurses. Therefore,it can help to improve the chronic wound care ability of the hospitals affiliated to the Hospital Group and to achieve the goal of harmonised care for chronic wounds across the member hospitals.
