Design and Implementation of Wireless Call System for Smart Wards
Most existing ward call systems use wired networks, which have high wiring costs.Nurses can only use fixed terminals to answer, resulting in poor mobility. To this end,a smart ward wireless call system is designed and built based on wireless networks. The system components include a bedside screen,a doorstep screen, and a nurse station call host. The system innovatively introduces a Personal Digital Assistant(PDA)to achieve mobile answering. The call system has been running stably in a pilot ward of a certain hospital for more than a year.Statistics show that after the introduction of the wireless call system, the response rate of nurses answering patient's calls is as high as 89.41%.Most nurses have reported that the mobile answering function of PDA has improved the efficiency of answering. The satisfaction survey results show that the overall satisfaction of nurses with the system is 4.28 out of 5,and the willingness to recommend to other wards is 4.38 out of 5.Therefore,the wireless call system has the advantages of low wiring cost and high mobility, and has high application and promotion value.
