Objective To explore the effects of Buyang Huanwu Decoction on the cardiac function of coronary artery disease(CAD)patient with Qi Deficiency and Blood Stasis syndrome. Methods A total of 90 patients diagnosed with CAD and Qi Deficiency and Blood Stasis syndrome based on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome differentiation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Ningbo University from January 2018 to October 2022 were included.Among them,60 cases had left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)reduced(heart failure group),another 30 cases had normal heart function(control group). In the heart failure group,30 patients were treated with Buyang Huanwu Decoction(Buyang Huanwu Decoction subgroup)for 4 courses, another 30 patients treated with western medicine(western medicine subgroup).LVEF,6-minute walk distance and N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide(pro-BNP)were compared between the two sub groups.mRNA expression of NF-κB signal pathway related genes(CCL4,CFLAR,ERC1,BCL2L1)was measured. Results After treatment,pro-BNP was significantly lower and 6-minute walk distance was significantly higher in Buyang Huanwu Decoction subgroup than in western medicine subgroup(all P<0.05).LVEF and 6-minute walk distance increased significantly, while pro-BNP decreased significantly after treatment than before in Buyang Huanwu Tang subgroup(all P<0.05).The mRNA expressions of CCL4,CFLAR and ERC1 in Buyang Huanwu Decoction subgroup were significantly lower than those in western medicine subgroup after treatment(all P<0.05),which were significantly lower after treatment than before in Buyang Huanwu Decoction subgroup(all P<0.05).Conclusion Buyang Huanwu Decoction can improve cardiac function of CAD patients with qi deficiency and blood stasis syndrome, and this may be related to down-regulation of inflammatory response mediated by NF-κB signal pathway.
