Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is a common chronic degenerative disease of cartilage, commonly found in middle-aged and elderly patients, can cause joint swelling, pain, stiffness and limited mobility, seriously affecting patients'ability to live daily life.Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)is an autologous product of fresh whole blood centrifugation. It contains many growth factors that promote tissue repair and has the effect of nerve repair and pain relief.Intra-articular injection of PRP has become a new treatment method for KOA,which can inhibit inflammation and promote tissue repair. Its effect is better than other biological agents such as hyaluronic acid and glucocorticoid, and it is easy to operate with no known adverse reactions. The purpose of this paper is to review the mechanism of action of PRP on KOA,in order to provide new ideas and methods for clinical treatment of KOA.
