Analysis of Quoting Old Annotations from Erya(《尔雅》)in the Collection of Wamyō ruiju shō(《倭名类聚抄》)
Wamyō ruiju shō(《倭名类聚抄》)is an earlier encyclopedia in Japan, which cites 222 examples of Erya(《尔雅》)and other old annotations, ranking third in terms of citation volume among ancient Chinese and Japanese books. It is clearly indicated that 2 cases were cited from Li Xun's Erya Zhu(《尔雅注》),6 cases were cited from Sun Yan's Erya Zhu(《尔雅注》),and 37 cases were cited from Shen Xuan's Erya Jizhu(《尔雅集注》).By comparing and analyzing the achievements of the Qing dynasty's compilation of lost text works and the surviving versions of Erya(《尔雅》),it is not difficult to find that these citations can not only enrich the research materials of the study of Erya(《尔雅》)and supplement the deficiency of the Qing dynasty's compilation of lost text works, but also summarize the ways and characteristics of foreign scholars citing Erya(《尔雅》).We hope that this study not only open up the new perspectives and paths for the study of Erya(《尔雅》),but also provide the reference and reflection on the issue of"modernization"of the variant texts in Erya(《尔雅》).
