How Native Scholars Discover and Discuss that Chinese Grammar Have Those Two Characteristics?——The Forming Process of the Views that"Chinese Lacks Inflections,Relies on Word Order and Function Words"
Regarding the long-awaited question of the history of grammar"who first proposed the two characteristics of Chinese grammar(Chinese Lacks Inflections,Relies on Word Order and Function Words)",Yuan Yulin and Wang Enxu responded for the first time in 2024.This paper is a companion of Yuan and Wang's research,and is dedicated to answering the question of"How native scholars discover and discuss that Chinese grammar have those two characteristics".Through the combing and analysis of native literatures from 1898 to 1979,this paper find that no native scholars or literatures have proposed these two characteristics independently.On this basis,the question of"why native scholars cannot independently put forward the two characteristics of Chinese grammar"is answered.
