Stone carved literature is an irreplaceable and important material for the study of philology,and Yuan dynasty stone carvings are also one of the most important materials for the study of Yuan dynasty characters.It has a large number of common characters,diverse sources,and distinct characteristics of the times.The value of textual research on common characters in Yuan dynasty stone carvings mainly lies in four aspects:Filling the material gap in the study of Chinese character development history,Providing important basis for the investigation of historical Chinese character time levels,Providing key clues for exploring the origin and variation trajectory of simplified characters,Providing useful references for current character reform and policy formulation.
