Influencing factors of dental caries in 199 preschool children
Objective To explore the influencing factors of dental caries in preschool children and pro-vide reference for the prevention of dental caries.Methods A total of 199 preschool children aged 1-6 who re-ceived treatment in the stomatology department of the hospital from March 1 to June 30,2020 were selected and divided into the case group(119 cases)and the control group(80 cases)based on whether they had dental caries.The feeding methods,age of weaning at night and other factors of the two groups were compared,and the influencing factors of dental caries in preschool children were analyzed.Results There were statistically significant differences in terms of age and height between the two groups(P<0.05),while there were no sta-tistically significant differences in terms of gender,weight,family location,and per capita annual income(P>0.05).There were statistically significant differences in terms of feeding methods,age of weaning at night,age of breaking off breast milk,purpose of oral examination,andage of first visit to a dental hospital between the two groups(P<0.05).The age of breaking off breast milk,age of first visit to a dental hospital and and the purpose of oral ex-amination were the influencing factors for preventing dental caries(P<0.05).Conclusion The age of breaking off breast milk,age of first visit to a dental hospital and the purpose of oral examination were the influencing fac-tors to prevent dental caries.Early consultation with a dentist,timely treatment,and attention to oral hygiene,as well as timely intervention measures,can reduce the incidence of dental caries in preschool children.
