Preparation of Nodualrizing Alloy Used for Heat-Resistant Nodular Iron Exhaust Manifold
The configuration characteristics, material requirement and casting process outline of the nodular iron exhaust manifold was introduced. The effects of Mg、RE、Ba、Ca、Bi and Sb in the nodualrizing alloy were analyzed. In order to ensure the castings having high nodularity, small graphite size and carbide-free matrix, a new type of low-RE high effective modularizing alloy was developed. Compared with using FeSiMg7RE3 alloy, as the result of using the new nodularizing alloy to produce QTRSi4Mol grade nodular iron manifold, the carbide was eliminated, the graphite size was reduced, the as-cast pearlite volume fraction could be effectively controlled less that 15% in the 3.2 mm section and 10% in the thick section respectively.
