Spheroidizing and Inoculating Processes of Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron
A summarization was piven to efferts of various chemninal elements of the SG iron and thdr tuntrol range. The various shphecoidizing and inoculating production used in SG iron production were introduced in detail. By analyzing shortages of using single Mg alloy or single RE alloy a spheroidizing alloy, the reason why the spheroidizing alloy should be consisted with Mg as main ingredient, and RE as the accessorial ingredient was explained. The advantages and disadvantages of different spheroidazing processes such as the open ladle pour-over process, tundish ladle pour-over process and cored-wire injection pnnress ete. were compared, The importance of inocuation for the SG iron production was pointed out, and the composition range of the inaculants commonly used for the SG iron was given.as well as the characteristes of the single ladle inornlation , multiple inoculation, instant inoculation and stream inoculation was introduced.
