Production Technology of a Thin Wall Casting
A introduction was made to structure and technical requirements of a thin wall control arm,a detail description was made to the original casting production technology and the casting defects including cold shut and sand core breaking.Combined with using MAGMA numeral simulation software to simulate the casting technology of the control arm,the final casting technology was determined.Through technology improving measures including controlling pouring temperature,pouring time,improving gating system.The cold shut defect of the casting was eliminated.By increasing resin content,adding drying process,to elevate the strength of cold box sand core,the sand core fracturing problem was eliminated.By using steel strap recaburizing process,adjusting Si content,the low temperature impact property was increased.
