Structure and Properties Improvement of Gray Iron Electric Motor Base
The structure and technical requirements of a gray iron electric motor base was introduced,the former production technology and existing unqualified graphite length in casting metallurgical structure problem was described.Two technical solutions schemes were explored and arranged:(1)Using ferroniobium alloy to replace copper and tin and thereby to reduce casting production cost under condition of meeting client's requirement.(2)Using method of decreasing carbon-increasing silicon and strengthen instant inoculation to refine the microstructure of the cast iron and thereby to improve mechanical properties of casting.Through multiple trial production,using simultaneously above two technical improvement schemes could not only refined the structure,so that the length of graphite was controlled within the required range,but also reduced the production cost.
