Design and Optimization of Pulley Casting Process Based on Numerical Simulation
The structure and technical requirements of pulley castings were introduced.The casting process design,trial prod-uction and verification process were elaborated in detail.The process design was carried out using a combination of risers and chills,and the MAGMA numerical simulation software was employed to simulate and analyze the shrinkage and solidification process of four process schemes.Finally,the riser neck problem was solved by adjusting the size and shape.By increasing the riser size and using chills,the hot spot shrinkage distance of the casting was reduced,thereby addressing the internal shrinkage defect of the casting.
