Foundry Process Design of Upper Turntable Casting Based on Simulation Software
The structure and technical requirements of gray iron upper turntable castings were introduced and a process analysis was conducted based on the structural characteristics of the casting.The design of parting surfaces,gating systems,risers,and chill blocks were elaborated.Utilizing computer simulation software,the filling and solidification processes of molten iron were analyzed.Based on simulation results,select an excellent filling plan,ensuring smooth filling of molten iron.By adjusting the positions and dimensions of risers and chill blocks,and establishing a rational feeding and shrinkage system,the occurrence of porosity and shrinkage defects in castings was minimized.
