Casting Method and Process Improvement of a Diesel Engine Flywheel Casting
The diesel engine flywheel casting structure was introduced,the former casting technology causing shrinkage porosities and slag inclusion defects were described in details,their reasons were looked for and technology improvement was conducted.By optimizing gating system,using single ingate to replace former ring-shape runner bar plus kissing riser,the problem that the kissing riser could not normally provide feeding capacity had been solved.By using alloying process,adjusting the chemical compositions,the shrinkage porosities problem was solved.By redeploying upper mold and bottom mold of the flywheel to avoid the iron liquid lastly solidifying in the thick flange ring,by gathering slag and using foam-ceramic filter net to replace fiber filter to enhance the ability to filter the liquid iron and reduce slag entering mold cavity,the slag inclusion problem was solved.
