Effect of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation on serum inflammatory factors in rats with tubal inflammatory infertility
Objective It is to observe the effects of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation on ser-um inflammatory factors and tubal tissue structure in rats with tubal inflammatory infertility,and to explore the possible mechanism of action of the decoction in the treatment of tubal inflammatory infertility.Methods Ninety SD female rats were randomly divided into blank group,model group,Kangfuyan capsule group and low,medium and high dose groups of de-coction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation,with 15 rats in each group.The rats of all group except for the blank group were given phenol paste by bilateral tubal injection to establish models of tubal inflammatory infertility.After successful modeling,the Kangfuyan capsule group was given Kangfuyan suspension 0.016 g/mL by gavage,the low,medi-um and high dose groups of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation were given suspension of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation 0.55 g/mL,1.1 g/mL and 2.2 g/mL by gavage,respectively,and the blank group and model group were given distilled water by gavage,all twice daily,continuously treated for 4 weeks.At the end of the final gavage,the serum levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),gamma interferon(IFN-γ),interleukin-1(IL-1),interleukin-2(IL-2),interleukin-6(IL-6)and interleukin-10(IL-10)were detected by ELISA,and the appear-ance and morphology of the fallopian tubes were observed by naked eyes.Results The serum levels of TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-1,IL-2 and IL-6 of rats in the model group were significantly higher,while the serum level of IL-10 was significantly lower than those in the blank group(all P<0.05);the serum levels of TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-1,IL-2 and IL-6 levels were signifi-cantly lower,while the serum levels of IL-10 levels were significantly higher in medium-dose and high-dose groups of de-coction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation and Kangfuyan capsule group than those in the model group(all P<0.05);the serum levels of TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-1,IL-2 and IL-6 levels were significantly lower,while the serum levels of IL-10 levels were significantly higher in medium-dose and high-dose groups of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation than those in the low dose group(all P<0.05),there was no significant difference in the levels of the above serum inflammatory factors between the high-dose group and medium dose group(P>0.05).In the rats of the model group,the oviduct tissue was obviously swelling,pale and lusterless,formed dense adhesions with surrounding tissues,and with fluid retention;the appearance and morphology of the low dose group of decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation were similar to those of the model group;the oviduct tissue of the medium dose and high dose groups of decoc-tion for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation and Kangfuyan capsule group were slightly thickened,reddish and shiny,with no obvious adhesion with the surrounding tissues or with a little adhesion,and with no water retention,of which the medium dose group was closer to normal.Conclusion Decoction for unblocking collaterals for pelvic inflammation can effectively improve tubal inflammatory lesions in rats with tubal inflammatory infertility via reducing the serum levels of TNF-α,IFN-γ,IL-1,IL-2,IL-6,and increasing the serum level of IL-10.
