中国家庭高端品消费的"挤出效应"

摘要
"十四五"规划强调"全面促进消费,顺应居民消费升级趋势".高端品消费是居民消费升级的一种体现,对其特征的研究具有现实意义.本文利用中国家庭金融调查(CHFS)2011-2019年微观调查数据,研究高端品消费对家庭消费的影响效应.工具变量估计表明,高端品消费对家庭消费具有显著的"挤出效应",且对农村、西部省份、低消费地区、教育程度低等劣势群体家庭消费的"挤出效应"更强.虽然高端品消费对总消费有同期"挤出效应",但往期高端品消费对本期的总消费具有"促进效应".联立模型估计显示,高端品消费和家庭消费之间具有双向"挤出效应".本文研究结论对促进消费高质量发展和消费升级、强化高端消费引领作用等具有政策启示.
Abstract
"The 14th Five Year Plan"emphasizes that we should comprehensively promote consumption and follow the trend of consumer upgrading among residents.High-end consumption is a manifestation of residential consumption upgrading,and it is of practical significance to study the characteristics of High-end consumption.This article applies the micro survey data from the China Household Finance Survey(CHFS)from 2011 to 2019 to study the impact of high-end consumption on household consumption.The instrumental variable estimation indicates that high-end consumption has a significant"crowding out effect"on household consumption,and the"crowding out effect"on disadvantaged groups such as rural areas,low-income areas,low regional consumption levels,and low education levels of household heads is stronger.Although high-end consumption has a crowding out effect on consumption during the same period,previous high-end consumption has a promoting effect on total current consumption.The simultaneous model estimation shows that there is a bidirectional"crowding-out effect"between high-end consumption and household consumption.The conclusions of this study have policy implications for promoting high-quality consumption development and consumption upgrading,and strengthening the leading role of high-end consumption.
