机会公平的意义:社会流动性与家庭消费支出

增强社会流动性是加快形成橄榄型社会结构和促进共同富裕目标实现的必然要求.文章使用中国综合社会调查数据(CGSS)和中国家庭追踪调查数据(CFPS)对中国各地区社会流动性水平进行测度,并考察了社会流动性对家庭消费支出的影响.文章研究发现:地区社会流动性增强能够显著促进家庭人均消费支出增加,该结论在多种稳健性检验下仍成立;机制检验发现,提振消费者信心和降低社会不平等是社会流动性增强,促进家庭人均消费支出增加的两个重要渠道;异质性分析结果表明,社会流动性增强对家庭人均消费支出的促进效应在社会信任程度高、抚养负担低的家庭以及经济发展水平高的地区中更显著.文章从社会流动性的视角揭示了机会公平对于激发国内有效需求的重要意义.
The Meaning of Opportunity Equity:Social Mobility and Household Consumption
Enhancing social mobility is an in evitable requirement for accelerating the formation of an olive-shaped social structure and promoting the realization of the goal of common prosperity.The article uses data from the China General Social Survey(CGSS)and the China Family Tracking Survey(CFPS)to measure the level of social mobility in each region of China and examines the impact of social mobility on household consumption expenditure.The article finds that:regional social mobility enhancement can significantly promote the increase of per capita household consumption expenditure,and this conclusion still holds under a variety of robustness tests;the mechanism test finds that boosting consumer confidence and reducing social inequality are two important channels through which social mobility enhancement promotes the increase of per capita household consumption expenditure;and the results of the heterogeneity analysis show that the promotion effect of social mobility enhancement on per capita household consumption expenditure The results of heterogeneity analysis show that the promotion effect of enhanced social mobility on per capita household consumption expenditure is more significant in households with high social trust and low dependency burden,and in regions with high levels of economic development.The article reveals the significance of opportunity equity in stimulating domestic effective demand from the perspective of social mobility.
