However, in some countries in Europe and1 North America, timber structure buildings can be built up to 6~9 stories with sophisticated and advanced construction technologies and fire safety design concepts available. National fire regulations in relation to the use of wood in China and other countries are compared and the differences are discussed in this paper. Case studies are presented to understand the current application of multi-storey timber buildings in China and abroad. This paper provides information and reference materials for the fire safety performance of multi-storey timber structures and their .actual application examples in the world.
