Objective:To investigate the correlation between high brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)fluid attenuated inversion recovery(FLAIR)signal and patent foramen ovale(PFO)in young and middle-aged people. Methods:Retrospectively selected young and middle-aged patients who completed skull MRI-FLAIR examination and c-TTE examination(right cardiac imaging under resting state)in Shanghai Delta Hospital from January 2021 to March 2023 were divided into two groups.Group A with high Flair signal and group B without high Flair signal. To compare the correlation between high FLAIR signal and PFO,data processing was performed using SPSS 27.0 statistical software and count data by t-test.Results:A total of 184 patients, age 18 to 55 years, mean age(40.4±8.5)years,gender,age,smoking,drinking,obesity,respiratory sleep syndrome and coronary heart disease history were not different in both groups(P>0.05),and the incidence of migraine in both groups(P=0.004).The proportion of patients with PFO in Group A was significantly higher than that in group B,with significant differences(P<0.001).Conclusion:Young and middle-aged people who found high FLAIR signal in the white matter during physical examination should be paid attention to,and further clarify whether there is patent foramen ovale is an important work to screen the cause.Migraine and foramen ovale have an obvious correlation. To provide effective prediction and countermeasures for the diagnosis and treatment of PFO.
