Environment,Nature,Knowledge:Transcendentality of Allen Carlson's Environmental Model
Allen Carlson's"environmental model",as a model for aesthetic appreciation of nature, transcends the object model, landscape model, and anthropocentric model in the three dimensions of"environment""nature"and"knowledge".As for the environmental model, the basic principles are"nature is natural"and"nature is environmental".Its main critical objects are object model and landscape model, while its essence is rooted in natural scientific knowledge. And its basic position and theoretical foundation are grounded in scientific cognitivism. However, the constructed path of the environmental model is confined to the analytical aesthetics of the dichotomy between nature and art, rendering it a more covert art model. The environmental model opposes anthropocentrism while simultaneously opposing both nature and human beings, thereby falling into eco-centralism.The"ecological aesthetic model"integrates a variety of natural appreciation models and may serve as a future developmental direction for both the environmental model and the environmental aesthetics.
