Study on the Life and Family History of Wang Wenxiong,Governor of Guyuan in the Qing Dynasty
Wang Wenxiong(1749-1800),courtesy name Dianxuan,number Yuxi,was a Qing general,a native of Yuping in Guizhou who served as a military governor in Shinanxie in Hubei,a military guerrilla in Yanzhou in Shandong,and a general soldier in Nanyang in Henan.In the third year of the Jiaqing period,he was the governor of Guyuan and successful in fighting against the rebels in Sichuan and Shaanxi.His life can be divided into the stage of studying and learning martial arts in his early years and the stage of fighting and dying in the north and south.Wang Wenxiong had five brothers,one son,three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.His grand-fathers were Wang Yongpei,Wang Shangren,Wang Qiuxuan and Wang Xiulong.Wang Wenxiong was to Wang Yongpei for martyrdom ancestor(the first ancestor)of the seventh generation.He had a reputation for bravery,ma-jestic suppression and protection of the middle state,living in the Henan and Shaanxi division of the territory,often held the tiger's talisman for the stability of the Qing court and the unification of the positive contribution.
