In comparison to traditional chemical anticorrosive coatings, biomass anticorrosive coatings present a reduction in the associated hazard to the environment and human body.In addition, they exhibit the advantages of renewable raw materials, biodegradability and environmental friendliness, which collectively positions them as a no-vel and significant research field for anticorrosive coatings. The anticorrosive coatings prepared by biomass lignin, castor oil and chitosan as modifiers were introduced primarily to enhance anticorrosive performance. However, the coatings have limitations, including difficulty in construction, high price and susceptibility to ultraviolet light. The outcomes of biomass anticorrosion coatings in steel structure anticorrosion, such as bridges in the field of engineer-ing technology, antibacterial anticorrosion of silver vinyl acetate in the field of marine vessels and anticorrosion of other equipment and petroleum pipelines, are presented.Furthermore,it is also discussed for the potential for bio-mass anticorrosion coatings to enhance the anticorrosive properties,UV resistance and anti-aging,while maintai-ning environmental friendliness and sustainability.
