The Evolution and Interaction of"Dou","Bing"and"Quan"
Monosyllabic adverbs which were used to express 'inclusive' in meaning and modality in the history of Chi-nese are"Dou (都)","Bing (并)"and"Quan(全)"that are still used in modern Chinese, This paper documented their usages from 15 typical spoken literatures in classical and modern Chinese, analyzed their grammatical functions, se-mantic changes and complementary relations in every specified period, and discussed the choice and compromise of their main functions. From this perspective, some additional explanations were given to the interpretation of their grammaticalization path.
