The Development and Limitation of Türkiye's Soft Power in Central Asia
Türkiye is one of the most influential external actors in Central Asia,and Central Asia is also a key region in Türkiye's diplomatic strategic layout.After the collapse of the Soviet Union,Türkiye has actively been involved in the region and promoted the development of its own soft power through various paths such as institutional diploma-cy,cultural diplomacy and science and technology diplomacy,having achieved remarkable effect.It has effectively enhanced Türkiye's influence in Central Asia,improved its national image and enhanced Türkiye's international dis-course power to some extent.But on the other hand,the development of Türkiye's soft power in Central Asia still fac-es multiple challenges.The reason is that Türkiye's strength as a middle power cannot support its ambition of domi-nating the world;for the Central Asian countries that adhere to a pragmatic and pluralistic foreign policy,cooperation with Türkiye is just an"option";the geopolitical environment in Central Asia is complex and Türkiye's activities in the region are bound to be balanced by Russia,the United States,Iran and other forces.
