An Analysis on the Practice of Inheriting the Red Gene and Educating People in Xinjiang College during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,Sheng Shicai,who ruled Xinjiang from 1933 to 1944,established a united front against Japanese aggression with the Communist Party of China due to his pro-So-viet policy,and invited Communists to Xinjiang to assist in the work,which provided the possibility for Xinjiang College to carry on the practice of educating people with the red gene.The practice of inheriting the red gene and ed-ucating people in Xinjiang College began during Yu Xiusong's tenure as President,and achieved development from scratch.Then it was deepened during Lin Jilu's tenure as President,and further improved during Du Chongyuan's ten-ure as President,experiencing a progressive development process from beginning to deepening and perfection.Dur-ing the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,Xinjiang University,through the unremitting efforts of CPC members and progressives,continued to explore the concept of red education,enrich the content of red education and innovate the methods of red education in the construction and expansion of the Chinese united front against Japanese aggression,actively publicized Marxism-Leninism,spread advanced culture and carried out the Movement of Nation-al Salvation and Resistance against Japanese Aggression,and opened a new prospect for the dissemination of Marx-ism-Leninism in Xinjiang University.It has written a brilliant chapter of practice in passing on the tradition of revolu-tion and educating people,and has made important contributions to training the patriotic and progressive youth of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang,promoting social enlightenment in Xinjiang and strengthening unity among all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
